The power Of Words

Hi, I am Karin, and I am an artist with a mission. I help people to stay true to who they really are because they are good enough, by painting portraits as a story, make an Art Book of your story and my forthcoming program The Art Of Taking Back Your Power. It changes perceptions, brings hope and love. Today I address the power of words and what they can do with us.

My Journey and how I discovered the power of words

At one point in my life, I had to take my power back. I was so fed up with who I was, that I started to research into how I could step up and come to my own rescue. Oh yes, I went into therapy, had counsellors. And I do not want to say that they are not good, but it only helps for a short time.

I also found out that the longer I talked, the more it all came back to me. So there my first research started. Soon I found out that if we keep repeating the past, it creates a huge memory and a vast emotion in our body. However, the words we use when we speak, are already in our thoughts before they come out of our mouths. So I started to take notice of what I was saying, what I was thinking. And let me tell you, that is an awkward experience because suddenly you become really aware of the power of words.

Slowly but surely I found my way back to who I really am, and still, it took me one more rock bottom to finally step up for myself. Self-love was the word. Never put me second again. To acknowledge that I have the right to also have huge dreams. And finally, to use my High Sensitivity as a gift, not as a hinder.

My Mission

My Why, as I stated in the beginning, is also my mission. I have found my way back to myself. I have learned and studied about the power of words and work on the awareness daily. Do you ever do something wrong and tell yourself you are stupid? I did, and much more. What I learned is that we abuse ourselves even more with our thoughts and the words we use.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but an excellent point to start. So I would like to advise you to write down your thoughts and read them back. Every time you have written something that puts you down, change it in a positive sentence or phrase or word. For example, when you say ‘No I Can’t’ – make it into ‘No I Won’t’. Do you feel the difference? The first is in a victim role and the second is you who takes the responsibility to say that you won’t do something.

Question about powerful words

So I want to ask you: Can you give me ONE word that you frequently use against yourself that you could put into a powerful one?

Let me know in the comments and I will come back to you.
