Marsha P Johnson, gendernonconformative. One of the first activists in the first Stonewall riots, fighting for the rights of all LGBRTi+ people.

This portrait is part of a series of Strong Black LGBTQi+ people I paint for an Art Book.

It is imperative that the role models get their place in art history and can be seen by young people to have a form of recognition as well as acknowledgement for who they truly are. It is very difficult for many and will be till we are all accepted for who we really are.

Painted in oil, I gave her the colours of the LGBTQi+ colours. This portrait is also an inspiration for a new series that will be available in 2022.
